{"id":84581,"date":"2023-01-16T15:11:55","date_gmt":"2023-01-16T13:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=84581"},"modified":"2023-01-16T15:11:55","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T13:11:55","slug":"over-250000-kitkat-bars-in-pilot-recyclable-paper-packaging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/over-250000-kitkat-bars-in-pilot-recyclable-paper-packaging\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 250,000 KitKat bars in pilot recyclable paper packaging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Over 250,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/kitkat-committed-to-become-zero-carbon-by-2025\/\">KitKat<\/a> chocolate bars are introduced in pilot recyclable paper packaging in Austria.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The pack of Kitkat &#8211; one of the world&#8217;s most popular confectionery products &#8211; has a\u00a0QR\u00a0code which people can scan to have their say and give valuable feedback on the new paper packaging.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Nestl\u00e9 has engaged in an exclusive partnership with Coles, a local retailer for piloting recyclable packaging.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Packaging experts at Nestl\u00e9&#8217;s Confectionery Research and Development Center in York,\u00a0UK\u00a0adapted and tested the paper, while scaling it up for use on modified high-speed flow wrapping equipment.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Louise Barrett, Head of the Nestl\u00e9 Confectionery Product Technology Center in York, said: &#8220;We are exploring different types of alternative packaging solutions for our confectionary products. For <em>KitKat<\/em>, the challenge was to find the right paper packaging solution with a high level of barrier properties to adequately protect the chocolate. We had to maintain the perfect balance between the iconic crispy wafer and smooth chocolate that people know and love, whilst at the same time ensuring the packaging is recyclable in the paper stream.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The paper packaging pilot for\u00a0KitKat\u00a0is another positive step in Nestle&#8217;s commitment to use innovation to meet its packaging commitments. Nestl\u00e9 has set a goal to reduce the use of virgin plastics by a third by 2025, which includes using less plastic, recycled plastic, and alternatives to plastic packaging.
