{"id":83691,"date":"2022-12-21T21:15:48","date_gmt":"2022-12-21T19:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=83691"},"modified":"2022-12-21T21:17:30","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T19:17:30","slug":"ebrd-invests-pln-800-m-in-sustainability-linked-bond-in-poland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/ebrd-invests-pln-800-m-in-sustainability-linked-bond-in-poland\/","title":{"rendered":"EBRD invests PLN 800 m in sustainability-linked bond in Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/ebrd-provides-50-m-financial-package-to-support-smes-in-egypt\/\"> European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)<\/a> invests PLN\u00a0800\u00a0million (\u20ac170 million) in a sustainability-linked bond to be issued by\u00a0Cyfrowy Polsat S.A.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Cyfrowy Polsat S.A. is the consolidating entity of Polish telecommunications and media group<a href=\"https:\/\/grupapolsatplus.pl\/\"> Grupa Polsat Plus<\/a>, which recently announced its expansion into the renewable energy segment. The investment is part of a bond program of up to PLN 4 billion (\u20ac853 million).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Grupa Polsat Plus has established a sustainability-linked financing framework, enabling it to issue both sustainability-linked bonds and loans in accordance with the International Capital Market Association\u2019s (ICMA)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icmagroup.org\/sustainable-finance\/the-principles-guidelines-and-handbooks\/sustainability-bond-guidelines-sbg\/\">guidelines for sustainability-linked bonds<\/a>\u00a0and loans. The new issue is the first sustainability-linked bond to be issued fully in line with ICMA sustainability-linked bond principles in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebrd.com\/poland.html\">Poland<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Cyfrowy Polsat S.A. will invest the proceeds of the issue in renewable energy projects in Poland, which are eligible under the EBRD\u2019s Green Economy Transition (GET) approach. These projects will also enable the company to diversify its energy mix and reduce its carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Elisabetta Falcetti, EBRD Director for Poland, said: \u201cThe EBRD\u2019s intended investment in Cyfrowy Polsat\u2019s bond issuance supports two of the EBRD\u2019s strategic goals in Poland: to support the green transition of the Polish economy and to strengthen local capital markets. This will be the first sustainability-linked bond issue that is fully in line with the ICMA\u2019s sustainability-linked bond principles in Poland.
