{"id":82469,"date":"2022-11-09T23:31:51","date_gmt":"2022-11-09T21:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=82469"},"modified":"2022-11-09T23:33:41","modified_gmt":"2022-11-09T21:33:41","slug":"1st-carbon-certificates-trading-platform-launched-at-cop27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/1st-carbon-certificates-trading-platform-launched-at-cop27\/","title":{"rendered":"1st carbon certificates trading platform launched at COP27"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The first voluntary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/middle-east-could-capture-up-to-50m-tons-of-carbon-annually-by-2030-obg\/\">carbon<\/a> certificates platform was launched at the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference <a href=\"https:\/\/cop27.eg\/#\/\">(COP27).<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli marked the launch of the platform with the participation of the private sector.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The launch ceremony was attended by Planning Minister Hala Saeed, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad and Board Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority Mohamed Farid.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said the platform represents an innovative tool to help secure finance for climate-related projects of both the private sector and the government.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">He underlined the importance of the event which will offer greater chance for the private sector&#8217;s commitment to confronting climate change within the framework of the updated national contribution plan.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">For her part, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad said the platform represents an additional option for mobilizing more resources.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Fouad said the voluntary carbon market represents part of Egypt&#8217;s commitments to the Paris climate agreement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">She added that the carbon certificates trading market represents an innovative finance tool and this opens the door before African countries to contribute to trading carbon certificates trading.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Planning Minister Hala Saeed said the platform launch represents an additional option for mobilizing more resources.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">She noted that most of carbon certificates available are of the private sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first voluntary carbon certificates platform was launched at the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).
