{"id":81098,"date":"2022-10-12T21:18:13","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T19:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=81098"},"modified":"2022-10-12T21:50:01","modified_gmt":"2022-10-12T19:50:01","slug":"metwaly-etisalat-egypt-spent-total-of-egp-140-m-on-csr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/metwaly-etisalat-egypt-spent-total-of-egp-140-m-on-csr\/","title":{"rendered":"Metwaly: Etisalat Egypt spent total of EGP 140 m on CSR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/etisalat-misr-stepping-up-environmental-sustainability-efforts-as-cop27-looms\/\">Etisalat Egypt<\/a> CEO Hazem Metwaly said the company spent a total EGP 140 million on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities since the company\u2019s launch in the Egyptian market.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In statements during a press conference in Dubai on the fringe of the 2022 Gitex Global, he referred to the company\u2019s participation in a hackathon in eight Egyptian universities.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Moreover, the company participated in campaigns for cleaning the Nile River from waste in addition to medical convoys in Sharqiya governorate.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>More about CSR activities of Etisalat Egypt:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In 2019, Etisalat Egypt said it spent almost EGP 100 million for serving society under its CSR plan.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Etisalat Egypt is committed to make a concrete difference in communities and bring value to its environment. It also simultaneously integrates the company\u2019s core competencies, culture, strategy and corporate values to achieve sustainability of actions on the ground.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Information and Communication Technologies are vital while dealing with sustainability challenges. Health and technology lie at the core of the company\u2019s CSR programs. Targeting sustainable growth activities\/initiatives means building a secure, digital and healthy world, with the largest access to health services; while fostering the company\u2019s innovation to ensure that its products and services support the improvement of lives.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Etisalat Egypt has positioned its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the heart of the company to become the telecommunications\u2019 sector benchmark for community responsibility in Egypt. It is an ongoing commitment for the company.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Since 2007, the company has started launching CSR programs like \u201cOrigin \u2013 Water for Life\u201d, Supporting Autism, Supporting the Deaf and Mute through the creation of \u201cRo\u2019ya\u201d, Supporting of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee (which had many achievements at the London Olympics 2012) and Virus C campaigns.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Etisalat Egypt successfully revamped and re-launched its Deaf &amp; Mute tariff plan \u201cRo\u2019ya\u201d in October 2018 in order to help deaf and dumb people to communicate, work, and be self-sustained.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Etisalat Egypt also launched \u201cThe Story\u201d in December 2018 to be the first interactive Arab forum for gifted people; where successes of the differently-abled people in the Arab world and their abilities to overcome obstacles were shared.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The company has been also the Technical Supporter of the \u201c100 Million Seha\u201d SMS campaign with Ministry of Health November 2018 \u2013 June 2019.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Etisalat Egypt is supporting the \u201c100 Million Seha\u201d Presidential mobilization campaign, launched by the Ministry of Health and Population in November 2018, by submitting SMSs to deliver the dates of the inspections at the respective governorates and inform the population of their hotline for more information on the campaign.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Supporting the health sector in Dakahleya governorate, the company granted 200 USBs with connectivity access to the Presidential \u201c100 Million Seha Campaign\u201d.
