{"id":79654,"date":"2022-08-16T22:55:06","date_gmt":"2022-08-16T20:55:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=79654"},"modified":"2022-08-16T22:55:06","modified_gmt":"2022-08-16T20:55:06","slug":"egypt-launches-its-28th-anti-violence-against-women-unit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/egypt-launches-its-28th-anti-violence-against-women-unit\/","title":{"rendered":"Egypt launches its 28th anti-violence against women unit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The number of Anti-Violence Against Women Units in Egypt reached 28 with the launch of a new unit on the Damanhour University Campus.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The Damanhour University held the first meeting for the newly-established Unit, in cooperation with t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncw.gov.eg\/\">he National Council for Women (NCW)<\/a> and the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/ncw-unfpa-open-four-new-safe-womens-clinics-in-egypt\/\"> United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">The units offer informative sessions, reporting processes and documentation of incidents of violence against women on campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">This comes in addition to eight Safe Women\u2019s Clinics in university hospitals across Egypt, offering comprehensive services for women subjected to violence, including medical services, as well as multi-sectoral referral to legal and social services in coordination with NCW.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The first clinic was inaugurated in 2020 in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/egypt.unfpa.org\/en\/news\/national-council-women-unfpa-inaugurate-first-medical-response-clinic-qasr-al-ainy-hospital#:~:text=The%20National%20Council%20for%20Women,Italian%20Agency%20for%20Development%20Cooperation.\">Qasr al-Ainy<\/a>\u00a0University Hospital, followed by clinics in Mansoura,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/egypt.unfpa.org\/en\/news\/national-council-women-unfpa-inaugurate-second-medical-response-clinic-ain-shams-hospital\">Ain Shams<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/egypt.unfpa.org\/en\/news\/national-council-women-unfpa-inaugurate-fourth-medical-response-clinic-assiut-university\">Assiut<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/egypt.unfpa.org\/en\/news\/national-council-women-unfpa-open-four-new-safe-womens-clinics\">Minya<\/a>, Beni Suef, Benha and 6th of October.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The National Council for Women has signed protocols with the universities to establish prevention and protection measures on university campuses.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The number of Anti-Violence Against Women Units in Egypt reached 28 with the launch of a new unit on the Damanhour University Campus.
