Cairo University\u00a0came at the top of 76 Egyptian universities<\/a> listed on “Webometrics Ranking of World Universities” which groups\u00a031, 000 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from more than 200 countries.<\/p>\n

The Ranking Web or Webometrics<\/a> is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions offering every six months an independent, objective, free, open scientific exercise for providing reliable, multidimensional, updated and useful information about the performance of universities from all over the world.<\/p>\n

The Ranking Web is not a ranking of the websites of Universities, it is a Ranking of Universities. It uses both webometric (all missions) and bibliometric (research mission) \u00a0indicators.<\/p>\n

The primary objective of the Ranking Web is to promote Open Access to the knowledge generated by the University. Best strategy to improve your rank is to increase the quantity and quality of webcontents.<\/p>\n

The objective is not to evaluate websites, their design or usability or the popularity of their contents according to the number of visits or visitors. Web indicators are considered as proxies in the correct, comprehensive, deep evaluation of the university global performance, taking into account its activities and outputs and their relevance and impact.<\/p>\n

Alexandria University was the second among Egyptian universities on the list which ranked no 660 among world universities on the list, followed by Mansoura University no\u00a0933, Ain Shams University no 1070, and Zagazig University no 1115.<\/p>\n

The American University in Cairo ranked no\u00a01166 followed by Benha University no\u00a01225, Assiut University\u00a01257,\u00a0Egypt Japan University of Science & Technology no\u00a01393, Azhar University\u00a01399, Tanta University no\u00a01478, and Menoufia University no\u00a01673.<\/p>\n

Kafr El Sheikh University occupied the 1707th position, followed by Helwan University the 1751st, Suez Canal University\u00a0 the 1771st, Minia University the\u00a01855th, Beni Suef University the\u00a01929th and the British University in Egypt the 2029th.<\/p>\n

The Arab Academy for Science & Technology and Maritime Transport ranked no\u00a02059,\u00a0South Valley University no\u00a02104,\u00a0\u00a0Fayoum University no\u00a02177, Aswan University no\u00a02412, The German University in Cairo no 2735, Nile University no 2870, and Damietta University no\u00a02883.<\/p>\n

Zewail City of Science and Technology\u00a0 ranked no\u00a02986, Port Said University no\u00a03048, Sohag University no\u00a03052, Future University no 3384,\u00a0Pharos University in Alexandria no\u00a03418,\u00a0MISR University for Science & Technology no\u00a03490, Suex University no 3546, and University of Sadat City no\u00a03554.<\/p>\n

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts MSA ranked no\u00a03565,\u00a0followed by Damanhour University no\u00a03689,Delta University for Science & Technology\u00a0no\u00a03827,\u00a0MISR International University no\u00a04191,\u00a0October 6 University no\u00a04349, and\u00a0Military Technical College no\u00a04380.<\/p>\n

The Egyptian Russian University ranked no 4415, followed by Nahda University no 4472, Higher Technological Institute no\u00a0 4513, Sinai University no 4854 and Badr University no 4869.<\/p>\n

Heliopolis University (Sekem University) came in the \u00a05016th<\/sup> position, MTI University (Modern University for Technology and Information) in the 5030th<\/sup>, Ahram Canadian University in the \u00a05044th<\/sup> and Deraya University in the 5152th.<\/p>\n

The Egyptian universities on the list also included Horus University ( 5315), \u00a0Modern Academy for Engineering and Technology (5781), Arish University (6197), New Giza University ( 6473), Akhbar El Yom Academy (6875), Canadian International College (6888), Universit\u00e9 Fran\u00e7aise d’Egypte (7397), Matrouh University (7497), Arab Open University Egypt (8765), Sadat Academy for Management Sciences (8825),
\nAlexandria Higher Institute for Technology\u00a0 (10954), Universit\u00e9 Senghor d’Alexandrie (12532), and Galala University (13113)<\/p>\n
