AstraZeneca<\/a>, the pioneering pharmaceutical company, teamed up with Egypt’s Health Ministry for supporting asthmatic children for the second straight year under Nesmet Hawa initiative.<\/p>\n

This year, Nesmet Hawa\u2019s event is held on Mother\u2019s Day \u2013in collaboration with the Ministry of Health- to show solidarity with all mothers who look after their children with chronic diseases, and to continue supporting children with asthma.<\/p>\n

Nesmet Hawa falls within the Health Ministry’s strategy for improving and developing the health sector in Egypt through having a positive impact on the lives of millions of patients in Egypt.<\/p>\n

AstraZeneca – which is a key partner in the medical sector in Egypt – seeks to support the Egyptian health sector at the financial and morale levels in order to achieve the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.<\/p>\n

During a press conference marking the event, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the Nesmet Hawa initiative is part of the ministry’s continued efforts to back patients.<\/p>\n

He expounded that the initiative focuses on supporting patients suffering from respiratory diseases and raising awareness among all patients and healthcare workers about allergic respiratory diseases and means of dealing with them.<\/p>\n

The overture is also meant to activate the patients’ treatment protocol in accordance with international guidelines and recommendations.<\/p>\n

He said “the initiative continued for the second year in view of its great success last year. The initiative aims this year to offer integrated healthcare for patients of respiratory diseases through focusing on healthcare at home, securing inhalation devices at hospitals and providing digital statistics for patients and their cases to facilitate following up their cases.<\/p>\n

The initiative goes in parallel with an integrated awareness campaign about respiratory diseases, their risks and protection methods through various media means and fitting out hospitals with up-to-date equipment. The campaign trained about 800 doctors and nurses at their workplaces in 2021 and will train 2000 healthcare providers in 2022, he said.<\/p>\n

For his part, AstraZeneca’s Country President for Egypt Hatem Werdany said all these efforts are meant to alleviate burdens on the governmental health sector, especially during the coronavirus pandemic which exhausted all medical mechanisms worldwide.<\/p>\n

He said Nesmet Hawa initiative seeks to increase inhalation equipment at hospitals in collaboration with the Health Ministry.<\/p>\n

Under the initiative, the company will also launch high-level training programs for medical teams at hospitals as well as healthcare providers at home by the end of 2022, he said.<\/p>\n

He said AstraZeneca seeks to support Egyptian patients via partnerships and programs and offers innovative solutions for patients, stressing that the company backs the government’s efforts to improve the infrastructure and medical education.<\/p>\n
