Philip Jago, Technical Assistance Team Leader of the Egyptian Pollution Abatement Program (EPAP)<\/a>, said the EPAP is now in the third phase and it is now looking much more for sustainable finance.<\/p>\n

During the 12th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development (12th CSR Forum), Jago expounded that the EPAP is an initiative launched by the Egyptian Environment Ministry. It aims to help industry reduce pollution and energy consumption, improve performance, and increase competitiveness.<\/p>\n

The EPAP is supported by a number of development banks, including the European Investment Bank (EIB), the French Development Agency and the European Union (EU)<\/a>, he noted.<\/p>\n

“The initiative is supporting sustainability through offering loans and grants to industry and that is the purpose of the initiative is to help industry take action now,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We do support any of the industrial sectors. 50 % of applications come from four or five sectors, including fertilizers, petrochemical, and cement industry,” he added.<\/p>\n

“We also provide technical support to help companies find the appropriate solutions,” he said.<\/p>\n

The EPAP also supports small and medium sized enterprises, mid-CAPs as well as large companies, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
