{"id":74493,"date":"2022-01-23T22:48:19","date_gmt":"2022-01-23T20:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=74493"},"modified":"2022-01-23T22:48:19","modified_gmt":"2022-01-23T20:48:19","slug":"google-amazon-mastercard-ant-forest-encouraging-greener-choices-by-customers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/google-amazon-mastercard-ant-forest-encouraging-greener-choices-by-customers\/","title":{"rendered":"Google, Amazon, Mastercard, Ant Forest encouraging greener choices by customers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/google-maps-to-offer-eco-friendly-navigation-options\/\">Google<\/a>, Amazon, Mastercard and Ant Forest have taken several measures to encourage customers make greener choices.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Google Flights has added to its sortable\u00a0categories, like price, duration, and departure time, a new field entitled CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Launched in October 2021, the column gives would-be travellers an estimate of how much carbon dioxide they will be responsible for emitting.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;When you&#8217;re choosing among flights of similar cost or timing, you can also factor carbon emissions into your decision,&#8221; wrote Google&#8217;s Vice President of Travel Products, Richard Holden.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Google is part of a wave of digital companies, including Amazon, and Ant Financial, encouraging consumers to make more sustainable choices by offering eco-friendly filter options, outlining the environmental impact of products, and leveraging engagement strategies used in video games.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Mastercard, in collaboration with the fintech company Doconomy, provides shoppers with a personalized carbon footprint tracker to inform their spending decisions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In the UK, Mastercard is partnering with HELPFUL to offer incentives for purchasing products from a list of over 150 sustainable brands.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Amazon has adopted the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/sustainability\/amazon-launches-climate-pledge-friendly-program\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/sustainability\/amazon-launches-climate-pledge-friendly-program&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1643056404890000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0J_tWq9dGbce8AZqxKkuXw\">Climate Pledge Friendly<\/a>\u00a0initiative to help at least 100 million people find climate-friendly products that carry at least one of 32 different environmental certifications.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Mobile apps like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/news-and-stories\/press-release\/chinese-initiative-ant-forest-wins-un-champions-earth-award\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.unep.org\/news-and-stories\/press-release\/chinese-initiative-ant-forest-wins-un-champions-earth-award&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1643056404890000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0WdNLhuudjnWqPNRhEQnXS\">Ant Forest<\/a>, by Ant Group, are also using a combination of incentives and digital engagement models to urge 600 million people make\u00a0sustainable choices. Users are rewarded for low-carbon decisions through green energy points they can use to plant real trees. So far, the Ant Forest app has resulted in 122 million trees being planted, reducing carbon emissions by over 6 million tons.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Many groups are trying to leverage this opportunity to make the world a more sustainable place.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/greendigitalfinancealliance.org\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/greendigitalfinancealliance.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1643056404890000&amp;usg=AOvVaw00sD-rY1nMaY1i4sUloP4M\">Green Digital Finance Alliance<\/a>\u00a0(GDFA), launched by Ant Group and UNEP, aims to enhance financing for sustainable development through digital platforms and fintech applications. It launched the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/greendigitalfinancealliance.org\/initiatives-publications\/eac-coalition\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/greendigitalfinancealliance.org\/initiatives-publications\/eac-coalition\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1643056404890000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1bPKSVTnnI7WF2YdVvVZWP\">Every Action Counts Coalition<\/a><u>,<\/u>\u00a0a global network of digital, financial, retail investment, e-commerce and consumer goods companies.
