{"id":69159,"date":"2021-08-11T20:24:17","date_gmt":"2021-08-11T18:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=69159"},"modified":"2021-08-11T20:24:17","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T18:24:17","slug":"ebrd-invests-75-m-in-turkish-companys-green-bond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/ebrd-invests-75-m-in-turkish-companys-green-bond\/","title":{"rendered":"EBRD invests $ 75 m in Turkish company\u2019s green bond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/egypts-banque-misr-among-five-winners-of-ebrds-deal-of-the-year-green-trade\/\"> European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)<\/a> is investing $ 75 million in a debut green Eurobond issued by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebrd.com\/turkey\">Turkey<\/a>\u2019s Aydem Yenilenebilir Enerji, or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aydemyenilenebilir.com.tr\/info\/7\/about-us\">Aydem Renewable Energy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Focused exclusively on renewable energy sources, the company operates 20 hydro plants, 3 wind-power plants, 1 geothermal plant and 1 biogas plant in 4 Turkish regions, with a total installed capacity of 1,020MW.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Aydem Renewable Energy raised US$ 750 million from its inaugural issuance, which was oversubscribed with orders for US$ 1.6 billion. This was the largest green corporate Eurobond issued in Turkey to date and one of the country\u2019s biggest ever placements.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The bond is independently certified as compliant with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icmagroup.org\/\">International Capital Market Association<\/a><u>\u2019s<\/u>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icmagroup.org\/sustainable-finance\/the-principles-guidelines-and-handbooks\/green-bond-principles-gbp\/\">Green Bond Principles<\/a>\u00a0and will set a benchmark for the Turkish renewable energy sector.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">As part of its cooperation with the EBRD, the company has committed to opening up career opportunities for women. It will launch a new gender-focused internship programme to equip young people with skills and attract more women to the sector.
