The Food Banking Regional Network (FBRN)<\/a>, with its strategic partnership with the \u201c100 Million Meals\u201d campaign, is extending food parcels to needy people in Egypt and 12 other Arab, African and Asian states.<\/p>\n

The campaign which is the largest in the holy fasting month of Ramadan is targeting 20 countries.<\/p>\n

UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohamed ben Rashed al Maktoum \u2013 who doubles as Dubai Ruler – announced before Ramadan the launch of the largest regional campaign for providing food to vulnerable people in 20 Arab, African and Asian countries.<\/p>\n

The campaign falls within the framework of efforts to combat hunger worldwide.<\/p>\n

Door is open for charitable people in UAE, abroad:<\/h4>\n

The \u201c100 Million Meals\u201d campaign is open up for donations from inside or outside the UAE to contribute to securing food for most needy people.<\/p>\n

Businessmen, companies, institutions and economic events can also contribute to this charitable action in the month of giving through partnership with the FBRN and the associations concerned in the countries which the campaign covers.<\/p>\n

The FBRN \u2013 which is a non-profit organization established in 2013 in Dubai – is meant to provide logistic services to provide food parcels to needy people in 13 countries out of total 20 countries which are covered by the campaign.<\/p>\n

The 13 states include Egypt<\/a>, Sudan, Somalia, Angola, Uganda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Jordan, Mauritania, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen.<\/p>\n

The FBRN as an umbrella to scores of food banks in 77 countries works on backing the \u201c100 Million Meals\u201d campaign by delivering food parcels to various world countries in tandem with local food banks in these countries.<\/p>\n

Promoting humanitarian initiatives:<\/h4>\n

CEO of FBRN Moez Shohdi said the FBRN collaborated with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment (MBRCH) and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in this mega food campaign.<\/p>\n

He noted that the campaign coordinated with local food banks in various countries to ensure delivering food parcels to most needy people, especially those who were affected by the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

This coincides with the holy fasting month of Ramadan where poor people are in need for Iftar as well as personal protection equipment.<\/p>\n

Shohdi said these humanitarian initiatives are the sole way to save millions of people from the suffering of hunger, adding these initiatives give hope for better future for all humanity.<\/p>\n

A Unique Food Bank Model<\/strong><\/p>\n

The FBRN, which works under the slogan ‘Together Against Hunger,’ has a unique model of food banks and operates on regional and international scales.<\/p>\n

The FBRN seeks to unify and coordinate global relief efforts with an aim to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 that aims to end hunger around the world by 2030.<\/p>\n

FBRN provides financial and logistical support to local food banks across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia to support vulnerable people, combat hunger, and reduce food waste.<\/p>\n
