{"id":63846,"date":"2021-02-20T06:46:12","date_gmt":"2021-02-20T04:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=63846"},"modified":"2021-02-20T06:46:12","modified_gmt":"2021-02-20T04:46:12","slug":"3-un-bodies-to-hold-5-webinars-to-promote-distance-learning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/3-un-bodies-to-hold-5-webinars-to-promote-distance-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"3 UN bodies to hold 5 webinars to promote distance learning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The UNESCO, UNICEF and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/world-bank-earmarks-34m-to-secure-vaccines-for-lebanon\/\">World Bank<\/a> teamed up to hold a joint webinar series on February 23 with an aim to promote distance learning.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">This proposed joint UNICEF-UNESCO-World Bank webinar series is organized around this framework as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.unesco.org\/covid19\/educationresponse\/globalcoalition\">the Global Education Coalition\u00a0on COVID-19<\/a> efforts to support governments in strengthening distance learning and facilitating the reopening of schools.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0The series includes five webinars broadcasted over the month of June.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Global school closures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic present an unprecedented risk to children\u2019s education, protection and wellbeing. Interrupting education services also has serious, long-term consequences for economies and societies such as increased inequality, poorer health outcomes, and reduced social cohesion.<\/p>\n<p>Across countries leaders are grappling with difficult and uncertain trade-offs as they consider easing lockdowns. The Framework for reopening of schools serves to inform the decision-making process on when to reopen schools, support national preparations and guide the implementation process, as part of the overall public health and education planning processes.
