{"id":59826,"date":"2020-10-09T06:22:08","date_gmt":"2020-10-09T04:22:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=59826"},"modified":"2020-10-09T06:22:08","modified_gmt":"2020-10-09T04:22:08","slug":"omos-real-change-to-lure-10m-youths-to-act-positively-towards-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/omos-real-change-to-lure-10m-youths-to-act-positively-towards-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"Omo&#8217;s &#8220;Real Change&#8221; to lure 10m youths to act positively towards environment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/omo-brazil-launderettes-to-cut-co2-energy-consumption\/\">Omo<\/a>&#8216;s \u2018Real Change\u2019 campaign \u2013 which will go live in 40 markets over the next 12 months \u2013 is meant to encourage 10 million young people to act positively towards the environment.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The brand is partnering with schools and NGOs to educate kids on how they can use their compassion to act for good when it comes to society and the environment.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cWe have a target of helping 10 million young people take positive action for a better world and are now working on how to make this a reality,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.linkedin.com\/in\/lesley-thorne-44506514\">Global Brand Equity Director Lesley Thorne<\/a>. \u201cThis is about a change in society and looking beyond our business&#8217;s books.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">While hashtags and tweets play an important role in raising awareness of an issue, it takes more than pressing a button to instil real change.<br \/>\nThrough the campaign, Omo is looking to engage millions of children in positive societal action.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Thorne said \u201cChild development is, as always, at the core of the brand, but that development is now more than ever about taking action on the issues and causes they believe in.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Omo&#8217;s &#8216;Dirt is Good&#8217; initiative:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Omo has been keen to reach as many people as possible, especially young people, to educate them how to act positively towards the environment.<br \/>\nOmo has &#8220;Dirt is Good&#8221; (DiG) initiative in 2008 to promote the message that kids learn and develop by being out in nature and getting dirty. The ads showed one young protagonist experiencing the outside world and reaping the rewards of freedom and discovery.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In its various guises, \u2018Dirt is Good\u2019 is seen by 1.6 billion people a year. That\u2019s a bigger reach than Instagram.<br \/>\nOmo is evolving its Dirt is Good (DiG) positioning to Dirt for Good. The aim is to better reflect the demands of a new generation and the actions it\u2019s taking on the environment.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cToday\u2019s kids are the changemaker generation,\u201d says Tati Lindenberg, Home Care\u2019s VP of Marketing. \u201cThey look at the world they are inheriting and they don\u2019t like what they see. And the one issue that stands out above all others for them, is the future of our planet.<br \/>\n\u201cThey want to see \u2013 and be part of \u2013 real change. They want to take action on sustainability and climate change, because they know their future depends on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>How Omo is acting positively towards the planet:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Omo, also known as Persil, Skip, Breeze, Ala, Surf Excel and Rinso (depending on where you live in the world), is aiming to lead the way among mainstream detergent brands to be kinder to the planet.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The formulation now contains plant-based stain removers as the brand begins efforts to replace fossil fuel-derived ingredients (black carbon) with other sources, such as plant-based ingredients (green carbon).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Omo is also working to reduce its use of virgin plastic in packaging.
