{"id":59369,"date":"2020-09-25T11:12:23","date_gmt":"2020-09-25T09:12:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=59369"},"modified":"2020-09-25T11:12:23","modified_gmt":"2020-09-25T09:12:23","slug":"eib-to-extend-e250-m-loan-to-back-borealis-plastics-cirularity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/eib-to-extend-e250-m-loan-to-back-borealis-plastics-cirularity\/","title":{"rendered":"EIB to extend \u20ac250 m loan to back Borealis&#8217; plastics cirularity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/eib-egypts-nbe-sign-eur-800-m-deal-for-backing-smes\/\">European Investment Bank (EIB)<\/a> will provide a \u20ac250 million loan supporting Borealis\u2019 multi-year investment program in the area of plastics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/egypt-listed-among-six-grow-countries-in-circular-economy\/\">circularity<\/a>, in line with its objectives to support innovation, climate action and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The loan will enable Borealis to intensify the development of novel, polyolefins-based circular solutions at its Innovation Centers in Austria, Sweden and Finland. Polyolefins produced by Borealis are used in a wide range of applications in consumer products, packaging, power transmission cabling, and industrial and construction materials.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">As a leading provider of innovative polyolefins solutions, Borealis aims to make its own core business more circular. The circular economy is one of three key areas in the new Borealis 2035 Group Strategy which was announced earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Borealis has been at the forefront of industry efforts to accelerate the transformation to a circular economy of plastics. Its proprietary Borstar\u00ae, Borlink\u2122 and Borceed \u2122 technologies have recently been enriched by Borcycle\u2122, an evolving technology that enables the production of high-quality recycled polyolefins (rPOs), and the Borenewables\u2122, a portfolio of circular polyolefins produced with renewable feedstock derived entirely from waste and residue streams.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Borealis has already begun working with value chain partners in recent years to develop and launch innovative, value-adding circular solutions in a variety of industries, including energy, automotive and consumer packaging.
