{"id":59039,"date":"2020-09-14T14:11:39","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T12:11:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=59039"},"modified":"2020-09-14T14:13:19","modified_gmt":"2020-09-14T12:13:19","slug":"orange-issues-eur-500-million-inaugural-sustainability-bond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/orange-issues-eur-500-million-inaugural-sustainability-bond\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange issues EUR 500 million inaugural sustainability bond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/orange-egypt-orman-association-join-hands-to-implement-3-csr-initiatives\/\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica;\">Orange<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica;\"> announced the successful launch of its inaugural Sustainability Bond for a total amount of EUR 500 million to finance projects that fully reflect the Group\u2019s ambitions in both the green and social fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; outline: none !important; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; color: #333333;\">Orange Group presented in December 2019 its new 5-year strategic plan called Engage 2025, stating that its operator model will be reinvented and aligned with two strong commitments; the first towards digital and social inclusion, and the second towards the fight against climate change. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; color: #333333;\">These commitments fully reflect the purpose which Orange recently added to its bylaws: \u201cAs a trusted partner, Orange gives everyone the keys to a responsible digital world\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; outline: none !important; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; color: #333333;\">For this first issuance, Orange intends to allocate a c.40% of the funds raised into digital and social inclusion projects and c.60% of the funds to energy efficiency and circular economy projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; outline: none !important; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; color: #333333;\">Ramon Fernandez, Deputy CEO and Executive Director Finance, Performance and Development, said: \u201cThis transaction illustrates Orange\u2019s strong commitment towards social and environmental responsibility. We aim to mobilize all of our stakeholders around our sustainable and collective objectives stated in our Engage 2025 strategic plan\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; outline: none !important; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; color: #333333;\">The bond issue consists of a total nominal of EUR 500 million, with a maturity of 9 years and an annual coupon of 0.125%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; color: #333333;\">This issue, which was more than 5 times oversubscribed, was met with great success from French and international SRI investors, allowing Orange to broaden its investor base and continue its policy of optimizing its funding structure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"background: white; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt; outline: none !important; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica; color: #333333;\">Vigeo Eiris, a leading ESG rating agency, has reviewed Orange\u2019s sustainability financing framework and delivered its highest level of assurance on the company\u2019s commitments and on the contribution of the contemplated Bonds to sustainability.
