{"id":58223,"date":"2020-08-18T08:57:23","date_gmt":"2020-08-18T06:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=58223"},"modified":"2020-08-18T08:57:23","modified_gmt":"2020-08-18T06:57:23","slug":"ebrd-provides-e40-m-loan-for-backing-smes-in-morocco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/ebrd-provides-e40-m-loan-for-backing-smes-in-morocco\/","title":{"rendered":"EBRD  provides \u20ac40 m loan for backing SMEs in Morocco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/visa-joins-hands-with-ebrd-to-support-smes\/\">European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)<\/a> is supporting small businesses in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/ebrd-extends-100m-loan-to-back-moroccos-smes\/\">Morocco\u00a0<\/a>to withstand the coronavirus\u00a0pandemic with an approximately 430 million dirham (equivalent to circa \u20ac40 million) loan to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caixabank.ma\/ma\/home_en.html\">CaixaBank\u2019s Morocco branch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The EBRD loan will help CaixaBank to increase much-needed funding for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to address companies\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In addition, the EBRD will also support CaixaBank&#8217;s expansion strategy to SMEs located outside the Casablanca-Rabat axis, which represents 70 percent of the Moroccan economy, as they will be further served by CaixaBank\u2019s branches in Tangier and Agadir.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In Morocco, the EBRD was one of the first financial institutions to develop financial and advisory instruments to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">CaixaBank is the leading financial group in retail banking in Spain. The bank obtained its banking license in Morocco in 2009, where it now has branches in Casablanca, Tangier and Agadir.
