The first state-of-the-art scrap processing plant of 0.5 MnTPA capacity is scheduled to be commissioned soon. It is the first such facility in India, equipped with state-of\u2013the-art scrap processing equipment such as Shredder, Baler, Material Handler etc., the company said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Tata Steel dispatched the 1st\u00a0<strong>Raw Material Consignment<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>Ferrous Scrap<\/strong>\u00a0to its Steel Recycling Plant on 24th July for trials at its steel recycling plant.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The circular economy project is aimed at providing the much-needed raw material fillip to the steel industry by making available\u00a0<strong>Quality Processed Ferrous Scrap<\/strong>, streamlining the currently unorganised scrap supply chain, lowering the dependency on imports, and enhancing the transparency and efficiency in the entire value chain.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">This scrap would be processed through mechanised equipment and the high Quality processed scrap would be supplied to Electric Arc Furnaces (EAFs), Induction Furnaces (IFs) &amp; Foundries for downstream steel making, satiating their long-standing demand.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">It is worth mentioning that The National Steel Policy envisages a 300 MnTPA steel production in India by FY 2030 and steel recycling will play a pivotal role in attaining this ambition.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The BOO (build, own, operate) partner of this initiative is Aarti Green Tech Ltd, a subsidiary of Aarti Steel Ltd.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cSteel Recycling Business is a definitive green step by Tata Steel towards sustainable steel production and ecosystem. The steel produced through the recycled route entails lower carbon emissions, lower resource consumption &amp; lower energy utilisation.\u201d, the company said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Yogesh Bedi, Chief, Steel Recycling Business, Tata Steel, said, \u201cSteel Recycling through the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) route is a global trend and going forward it would become imperative for India\u2019s sustainable growth aspirations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cTata Steel has been pioneering various aspects of the steel industry since its inception in 1907.
