{"id":57607,"date":"2020-07-27T05:47:35","date_gmt":"2020-07-27T03:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=57607"},"modified":"2020-07-27T05:47:35","modified_gmt":"2020-07-27T03:47:35","slug":"ebrd-extends-100m-loan-to-back-moroccos-smes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/ebrd-extends-100m-loan-to-back-moroccos-smes\/","title":{"rendered":"EBRD extends $100m loan to back Morocco&#8217;s SMEs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/300m-ebrd-loans-to-nbe-cib-to-back-egyptian-economy\/\">European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)<\/a> is responding to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Moroccan\u00a0economy with a $ 100 million loan to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.groupebcp.com\/fr\">Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP)<\/a> for on-lending to local private businesses.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The loan is the second in the country under the EBRD Solidarity Package, established to meet the immediate short-term financing needs of existing clients and to strengthen the resilience of the financial sector during the coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">BCP will extend EBRD funds to corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises that are experiencing a decrease in activity, turnover and profitability to help them address liquidity needs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In Morocco, the EBRD is one of the first financial institutions to develop adequate financial and advisory instruments to alleviate the impact of the pandemic on the economy.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The EBRD expects to dedicate the entirety of its activities to combating the economic impact of the crisis and stands ready to provide support worth \u20ac21 billion over 2020-21. BCP is part of Group Banque Centrale Populaire and the second largest bank in Morocco in terms of lending.
