The Industrial Development Bank (IDB) has played a pivotal role in supporting the health sector under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy.<\/p>\n
The bank has been keen on buttressing the Baheya Foundation For Treatment Of Breast Cancer \u2013 which is a non-profit association offering free breast cancer treatment.<\/p>\n
The bank- under directives of its Board Chairman Maged Fahmi – has provided to the Baheya Foundation medical equipment and sanitizers.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the Baheya Foundation Board of Trustees Tamer Shawqi voiced deep appreciation to the bank for its efforts to support the foundation which plays a leading role in serving women and spread awareness among them about breast cancer and early detection of tumor.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe bank has been one of the largest Egyptian institutions backing the health sector,\u201d IDB Board Chairman Fahmi said, noting that the bank has joined hands with Sonaa el Kheir Foundation to implement several initiatives aiming at supporting disabled persons and providing them with needed medical equipment and sanitizers in addition to contributing to disinfecting villages and reinforcing health mechanisms there.<\/p>\n
These efforts are meant to prop up the state to overcome the coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n
The bank has also launched an account for supporting doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers at hospitals, especially those in remote areas, in order to extend personal protective equipment to them.<\/p>\n
The head of the bank\u2019s marketing and CSR department Nagalaa Abdel Rehim said the bank has also spearheaded awareness campaigns among its employees about various diseases, topped by kidney failure.<\/p>\n
The campaigns \u2013 launched in collaboration with the Egyptian society of nephrology and transplantation \u2013 fall within the framework of promoting state efforts to curb the spread of diseases among Egyptians.<\/p>\n
Abdel Rehim referred to the preventive measures adopted by the bank to protect employees and clients from coronavirus infection.<\/p>\n
Deputy Board Chairman of the IDB Hamdi Azzam said the bank champions CSR, therefore it will continue to contribute to humanitarian initiatives which will focus on supporting the health sector, developing the Egyptian community and backing underdeserved families. This will help encouraging more institutions to join the CSR march.<\/p>\n
Azzam said he is proud of the bank\u2019s pioneering role in the CSR score and its collaboration with various institutions.<\/p>\n
