Nahdet Misr<\/a> signed a cooperation protocol with the Nida Society for rehabilitation of deaf and hearing impaired children to launch \u201cTogether\u201d distance learning program which aims to help hearing impaired<\/a> and handicapped children continue their education under the supervision of their families in view of suspending education due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/p>\n

The program is sponsored by the Social Solidarity Ministry which is keen to support and activate all initiatives and programs meant to help children who are suffering from hearing and visual impairment and other disabilities.<\/p>\n

The program presents a series of videos which cover different topics, including promoting hearing and reading skills as well as qualifying these children to narrating stories and using grammatical rules adequately.<\/p>\n

The program also includes mathematics and artistic activities as well as guidelines for families.<\/p>\n

The program will also offer IQ tests and academic assessment for free.<\/p>\n

The program will be committed to follow-up with the parents to evaluate how far children are benefiting from the program\u2019s activities and review this with specialized teachers to forge more developed programs.<\/p>\n

The program will be activated via Facebook pages, Zoom application, youtube channels and whatsapp groups of parents.<\/p>\n

Board Chairperson of Nahdet Misr Dalia Ibrahim hailed cooperation with Nida Society which plays a pivotal role in supporting children with disabilities, especially those suffering from hearing and visual impairment.<\/p>\n

The program falls within the framework of Nahdet Misr\u2019s commitment to reinforcing social projects, especially educational ones which form the basis for building a powerful and productive community.<\/p>\n

Ibrahim said \u201cwe believe in the importance of educating all social segments and we found that it was our duty to support hearing impaired children and their families as the lockdown can affect the educational process of these kids. Therefore, we were keen to participate in \u201cTogether\u201d program to spread awareness among parents about the importance of continuing the educational process via distance learning.\u201d<\/p>\n

For her part, Nida Society Board Chairperson Magda Fahmi said \u201cit was an exigency to think about alternatives to upskill hearing impaired children during the lockdown. That\u2019s why we teamed up with Nahdet Misr to turn this hard period into a chance to improve these children\u2019s educational skills through \u201cTogether\u201d program\u201d which will continue throughout June to reach the largest of number of the families concerned.<\/p>\n
