{"id":56179,"date":"2020-05-31T11:36:08","date_gmt":"2020-05-31T09:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=56179"},"modified":"2020-05-31T11:36:08","modified_gmt":"2020-05-31T09:36:08","slug":"audi-announces-upcoming-new-highly-efficient-electric-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/audi-announces-upcoming-new-highly-efficient-electric-car\/","title":{"rendered":"Audi announces upcoming new \u2018highly efficient electric car\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Audi today announced the launch of a new team group called \u201cArtemis,\u201d and they plan to develop an \u201cefficient electric car\u201d to come to market by 2024.<span id=\"more-135524\"><\/span><ins class=\"adsbygoogle author_ad\" data-ad-host=\"ca-host-pub-5506057612223327\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4655152367470280\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\"><ins id=\"aswift_1_expand\"><ins id=\"aswift_1_anchor\"><\/ins><\/ins><\/ins><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The Artemis initiative was started by Audi\u2019s new CEO Markus Duesmann with the goal to \u201cdevelop a pioneering model for Audi quickly and unbureaucratically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">At\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2020\/04\/30\/audi-e-tron-sportback-ev-arrives-this-summer-with-218-miles-of-range\/\">Audi<\/a>, like at many other established automakers, it takes an extraordinary amount of time to get a new model to production, and you have to jump through many bureaucratic hoops to make it happen.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">It was fine when it was business as usual in the industry, but now in the midst of the electric revolution, Audi is having to compete with Tesla and other companies operating more with a startup or tech company mentality of rapid innovation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Audi is recognizing that and implementing a solution.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Duesmann commented on the announcement:<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\"><p>The Volkswagen Group\u2019s brands stand for excellent technologies \u2014 and have potential for much more. With 75 planned electric models by 2029, the current electric initiative at the Volkswagen Group naturally ties up all our capacities. The obvious question was how we could implement additional high-tech benchmarks without jeopardizing the manageability of existing projects, and at the same time utilize new opportunities in the markets.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The new CEO said that the Artemis team will be \u201cgiven a large degree of freedom\u201d and it will work globally, but will be based in their high-tech hub of the INCampus in Ingolstadt, Germany.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The \u201cfocus\u201d will be on \u201cnew technologies for electric, highly automated driving with a specific model reference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Artemis\u2019 first task will be to develop \u201ca highly efficient electric car that is scheduled to be on the road as early as 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Alex Hitzinger, a successful motorsport chief engineer and currently in charge of autonomous driving in the Group, has been made head of the Artemis team, and he will report directly to the new CEO.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page-row\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div id=\"item-5ae94c74-e001-4ab0-9515-75739b6b44fb\" class=\"page-item--text\">\n<div class=\"text-block style-links-for-body-text\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Audi today announced the launch of a new team group called \u201cArtemis,\u201d and they plan to develop an \u201cefficient electric car\u201d to come to market by 2024.
