The NilePreneurs launched an overture in tandem with Banque du Caire to help small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) join e-commerce channels in order to confront the repercussions of the current coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n

Ahmed Farouq, the head of the Value Chain Development Center, said the current global circumstances have catalyzed the launch of the initiative in order to help companies find new ways to keep their wheel going on despite of the current hard conditions.<\/p>\n

The overture aims to promote electronic exportation and, hence, curb the losses which local and international companies encumbered over the coronavirus crisis, he expounded.<\/p>\n

The exportation promotion program is launched in collaboration with a number of ministries and other bodies concerned in Egypt.<\/p>\n

How the program will support SMEs:<\/h4>\n

The program will offer all needed support for SMEs operating in the industrial domain to be able to smoothly export their products to international markets.<\/p>\n

He added that the program aims to expand international and regional markets through e-commerce.<\/p>\n

The program will help SMEs in Egypt develop their products with regard to quality and designs in order to cater for the needs of the international market.<\/p>\n

It will also help them come up with innovative products that would be welcomed in international markets, he said.<\/p>\n

Under the program, companies seeking to join the program\u2019s e-commerce expansion plan would first undergo technical assessment, then specialized training sessions would be organized for them to hone their skills. NilePreneurs will then select the most qualified companies to support them.<\/p>\n

The program will help the selected companies through designing the company\u2019s file with its content, creating a trademark for the company and organizing a professional photo session for its products and services until the stage of reaching e-commerce platforms.<\/p>\n

Farouq said the exportation promotion program would help companies develop their skills in the fields of innovation and manufacturing technologies, managing digital supply and marketing chains and linking these companies with their international partners via international platforms, trade missions and business forums (B2B Match-making).<\/p>\n

Conditions for joining the exportation promotion program:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

There are a number of conditions for allowing companies to join the program. The company should operate in the field of engineering industries or any branches of engineering.<\/p>\n

The company should also be operating\u00a0in the market for at least two years and has its own HQ and all important documents, including commerce registry.<\/p>\n

The company should already have its own product and should belong to the SMEs category in line with the definition of the Central Bank of Egypt.<\/p>\n

If the company has an electronic website for selling its products, it would have a better chance, he added.<\/p>\n

About The NilePreneurs Initiative: <\/strong><\/p>\n

NilePreneurs is a national, fast growing, initiative funded by the Central Bank of Egypt, and implemented by the Nile University to support entrepreneurship and SMEs and promote local production.<\/p>\n

The initiative is backed by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and Erasmus+ as well as 13 banks, including the National Bank of Egypt, Attijariwafa Bank, Suez Canal Bank, the United Bank, Banque Misr and HSBC.<\/p>\n
