{"id":53992,"date":"2020-04-01T18:11:38","date_gmt":"2020-04-01T16:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=53992"},"modified":"2020-04-01T18:11:38","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T16:11:38","slug":"ox2-to-develop-third-largest-wind-farm-in-finland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/ox2-to-develop-third-largest-wind-farm-in-finland\/","title":{"rendered":"OX2 to develop third-largest wind farm in Finland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Swedish renewable energy company OX2 has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ox2.com\/press-release\/ox2-is-constructing-the-third-largest-wind-farm-in-finland\/\">stated its intention<\/a>\u00a0to build the third-largest wind farm in Vaala, North Ostrobothnia, Finland.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The 132 MW Mets\u00e4lamminkangas site will be constructed following at agreement with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lundin-petroleum.com\/\">Lundin Petroleum<\/a>, which is currently seeking to covert its energy assets to renewable sources.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Comprised of 24 5.5 MW turbines manufactured by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ge.com\/renewableenergy\">GE Renewable Energy<\/a>, the Mets\u00e4lamminkangas area is well noted for its favorable wind conditions for generating power.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe are very pleased to be partnering with OX2 on this project. Alongside our existing hydroelectricity project in Norway,\u201d said Alex Schneiter, President and CEO of Lundin.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe Mets\u00e4lamminkangas wind farm will enable us to replace a big share of our net electricity usage, powering our offshore Norway oil and gas production facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Ambition within the energy sector<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This project will be the largest singular construction that OX2 has yet overseen in Finland; the company has identified the country as a surging market for wind energy and decided to vigorously pursue new construction projects there.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Indeed, with 1.2 GW currently still in development, of which 340 MW is located in Finland, OX2 has decided to fully capitalise on the potential.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This ambition continues to be realised by the company, which recently completed its 33 MW Orrberget wind farm in conjunction with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fontavis.ch\/en\/\">Fontavis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The onshore wind farm has been constructed with the capacity to fuel 19,200 households with clean energy and subsequently mitigate 57,600 tonnes of CO2. The completion of Orrberget marks OX2\u2019s third operational site in Finland.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWith the completion of another wind farm in Sweden with OX2, Fontavis again demonstrates its competence and ability to generate attractive deals and successfully implement them with the right partners,\u201d said Thomas Vogt, Director at Fontavis.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2, was proud of what the partnership had yielded and stated that the wind farm would prove to be a useful and profitable asset.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe are now committed to manage the wind farm for Fontavis to ensure a safe operation and to deliver the greatest possible return of investment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Swedish renewable energy company OX2 has\u00a0stated its intention\u00a0to build the third-largest wind farm in Vaala, North Ostrobothnia, Finland.
