Shiseido\u00a0is to launch a new sustainable beauty skincare brand called\u00a0Baum,\u00a0comprising a total of 27 lines and 45 items, on 30 May 2020, as part of its high-end cosmetics and fragrance business arm Prestige.<\/div>\n

The new brand focuses on \u2018the power of the trees\u2019 and is based on the concept of \u2018coexistence with nature\u2019, valued by Japanese people for centuries.<\/p>\n

Boasting 27 product categories, including makeup removers, cleaners, a face massage mask, a moisturising cream, hand creams, body lotions, and room\/linen fragrances amongst others, Baum is blended with mainly tree-derived natural fragrances, while more than 90% of its formula is natural.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, strengthening its environmental credentials, the brand recycles wood offcuts from the furniture manufacturing process, in collaboration with Japanese wood furniture manufacturer\u00a0Karimoku Furnitire Inc.\u00a0It also restores fine-quality oaks collected in the Tohoku and Hokkaido regions of Japan.<\/p>\n

In addition, in an effort to reduce its environmental impact, Baum actively offers refill products, while using bio-based PET for some plastic bottles and recycled glass for glass containers and selling Baum reusable bags to customers upon request.<\/p>\n

The brand is also taking part in forest conservation activities by mainly planting and growing oaks used in packaging, in cooperation with\u00a0Sumitomo Forestry Co.<\/p>\n

Baum will be unveiled on 30 May 2020, at the\u00a0NEWoMAN Yokohama\u00a0department store, while a pop-up store will also be introduced from 30 May until 9 June at the\u00a0Isetan Shinjuku\u00a0department store and from 6 June until 21 June at the\u00a0NEWoMAN Shinjuku\u00a0store.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
