{"id":53582,"date":"2020-03-21T20:08:01","date_gmt":"2020-03-21T18:08:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=53582"},"modified":"2020-03-21T20:08:01","modified_gmt":"2020-03-21T18:08:01","slug":"tata-motors-wants-100-renewable-energy-by-2030","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/tata-motors-wants-100-renewable-energy-by-2030\/","title":{"rendered":"Tata Motors wants 100% renewable energy by 2030"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Indian car manufacturer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tatamotors.com\/press\/tata-motors-lucknow-plant-on-track-to-achieve-100-renewable-energy-sourcing-for-its-energy-requirements-by-2030\/\">Tata Motors has stated<\/a>\u00a0that it wants its Lucknow facility to run on 100% renewable energy by 2030.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Keeping sustainable business practices at the core of its corporate philosophy, the company has implemented an Energy Management System (EMS), which has managed to significantly increase energy efficiency over the last four years.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The optimisation has produced notable results: 250 kWh of energy is now expended per vehicle, as opposed to 406 kWh &#8211; a 38% reduction.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Tata\u2019s Lucknow plant will subsequently be proceeding to other forms of energy conservation, such as utilising more energy-efficient technologies during construction and automation, whilst also pursuing renewable energy options for power.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>An ambitious improvement<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The company\u2019s actions at Lucknow reflect a broader strategy to try and reduce CO2 emissions, conserve energy and water and limit waste. Pramod Choudhary, Plant Head at Tata Motors Lucknow, described the changes as an ambitious improvement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cOur Lucknow plant has always been cognizant of the need for energy conservation and has been steadily making progress towards attaining 100% renewable energy sourcing for all its operations by 2030.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe have increased the share of renewable energy to over 16% in the last two years by installing 4MWp capacity Roof top Solar power plant in the plant premises,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The breadth of Tata\u2019s vision to overhaul every aspect of manufacturing has resulted in a 57% reduction in Lucknow\u2019s non-working day energy consumption (from 33,000 kWh to 14,300 kWh)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Moving forward, Tata is considering increasing its usage of solar power, including solar powered heating, lighting and EV charging. The company is also diversifying its renewable energy interests to bio-gas.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Powering the future<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Tata\u2019s latest EV &#8211; the Nexon &#8211; was recently tested in a \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tatamotors.com\/press\/tata-nexon-ev-stages-the-grand-electric-tour-for-customers-and-enthusiasts\/\">grand electric tour<\/a>\u2019 to give customers and investors an insight into its capabilities.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With what the company calls an \u201canxiety-free range of 312 km\u201d from a single charge, the car is less efficient than the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/en_gb\/models\">Tesla Model S<\/a>\u00a0(range 630 km), yet it has apparently captured the attention of the Indian car market.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cEver since its launch the Tata Nexon EV has generated a great amount of interest and excitement, resulting in an encouraging response for bookings across our dealerships,\u201d said Ashesh Dar, Head of Sales and Marketing at Tata.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cOne of the first cities to have dedicated policy for electric vehicles, Bangalore sets the perfect platform to kick start our experiential drive tour, enabling our potential customers and enthusiasts to get up, close and personal with the feature loaded Nexon EV.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indian car manufacturer\u00a0Tata Motors has stated\u00a0that it wants its Lucknow facility to run on 100% renewable energy by 2030.
