Fourth year students of the\u00a0Faculty Of Mass Communication, Cairo University, launched a survey among more than 2,000 university students on their opinion about whom they see as the ambassadors of happiness in Egypt.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The survey was conducted within the framework of “Dopamine Campaign” – the first social campaign to be launched with an aim to spread happiness\u00a0among Egyptians, especially low and middle class people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The name of the campaign was meticulously chosen to represent its main goal as “Domapine” is the scientifically\u00a0recognized as <\/span>a hormone associated with\u00a0happiness and it is sometimes called the “happy hormone.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign was organized under the auspices of Head of public relations and advertisement department Dr Iman Gomaa as well as Dr Hayat Badr and Lamia Ahmed of the same department.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gomaa said ” the survey conducted by the university students on ‘the ambassadors of happiness’ is the first of its kind. The survey was meant to stand on the students’ vision about the concept of happiness and the figures whom they believe to be a source of happiness.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The survey will in turn send a positive message to those due to be named as “the ambassadors of happiness” that they are really appreciated, she said, adding that this will represent a motive for them to exert more efforts to draw more smiles on the faces of Egyptian people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The students who worked on the campaign were keen to underline that making people happy was not costly. The students organized several activities, including distributing simple gifts like sweets and hot drinks.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, they visited a school of handicapped children and distributed simple gifts like toys, coloring books and sweets.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign was launched one month ahead of the International Day of Happiness which falls on 20th of March.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the International Day of Happiness:<\/span><\/h4>\n

The 2020 International Day of Happiness will be held under the theme of “Happier Together.”\u00a0 This day is meant to encourage people to take action to create more happiness in the world around them.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2013, the United Nations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness as a way to recognize the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world. In 2015, the UN launched the\u00a017 Sustainable Development Goals<\/a>, which seek to\u00a0end poverty<\/a>,\u00a0reduce inequality<\/a>, and protect the planet \u2013 three key aspects that lead to well-being and happiness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The United Nations invites each person of any age, plus every classroom, business and government to join in celebration of the International Day of Happiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

The International Day of Happiness, recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world and the importance of their recognition in public policy objectives. It also recognized the need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and the well-being of all peoples.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0\u00a0General Assembly of the United Nations in its\u00a0resolution 66\/281<\/a>\u00a0of 12 July 2012 proclaimed 20 March the International Day of Happiness. The\u00a0resolution was initiated by Bhutan, a country which recognized the value of national happiness over national income since the early 1970s and famously adopted the goal of Gross National Happiness over Gross National Product. It also hosted a High Level Meeting on “Happiness and Well-Being: Defining a New Economic Paradigm” during the sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
