<\/p>\nAttijariwafa Bank teamed up with Misr El Khair to launch a campaign aiming to support a poor village in Fayyoum, 100 kilometers southwest of Cairo, within the framework of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy which has always sought to buttress state efforts.<\/p>\n
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has been deeply interested in giving hand to low-income and marginalized strata as well as developing poor villages.<\/p>\n
The bank’s employees said they were zealous in taking part in such charity campaign which aimed at roofing many houses in addition to distributing blankets and foodstuffs.<\/p>\n
They added that such campaigns help establishing a link with villages in various Egyptian governorates.
\nMeanwhile, Mahmoud Omar, Secretary of a charity association in Zayd village aka “I’temad”, said the association coordinated efforts with Misr El Khair and Attijariwafa Bank to pinpoint most needy people to ensure offering support for those who deserve.<\/p>\n
In statements to CSR Egypt, he hailed such charity initiatives as contributing to improving the living conditions of poor people.<\/p>\n
The bank has been a key CSR player in view of its efforts to enhance the state’s efforts to help the poor and realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Within this context the bank launched last month a campaign for cleaning the Nile River in Giza’s El Maniel district from plastic waste.<\/p>\n
Attijariwfa Bank is one of the banks which is deeply interested in protecting the environment and reducing pollution in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. The bank is scheduled to collaborate with the Ministry of Environmental Affairs to spearhead an initiative on manufacturing cloth bags in lieu of plastic bags to reduce plastic pollution.<\/p>\n
The whole world has been stepping up efforts to reduce plastic waste which kills up to 1 million sea birds, 100,000 sea mammals, marine turtles and countless fish each year. Plastic remains in the ecosystem for years, harming thousands of sea creatures every day.<\/p>\n
The bank has been also keen to support state efforts to empower youth, women as well as the handicapped as the bank has developed offices in charge of supporting and honing skills of people of special needs in addition to launching an initiative in tandem with the American University in Cairo to educate handicapped persons.<\/p>\n
The bank has also held a job fair for handicapped people in collaboration with the American University in Cairo. About 25 people managed to get jobs at the bank.<\/p>\n
The bank has also backed technical education programs which are vital for entrepreneurship and helped women through spinning and weaving projects.<\/p>\n
The bank also launched the first business development center under the Nile Preneurs Initiative – which is sponsored by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to support small enterprises and startups in targeted economic sectors.<\/p>\n
The center is part of bank’s plan to positively contribute to Nile Preneurs Initiative via establishing centers for business development in its branches to offer non-financial services to improve the investment climate of the small and medium sized enterprises.<\/p>\n
The bank seeks to have a real impact in developing society and promoting the state\u2019s march of development.<\/p>\n
