It is the second wind project in Serbia supported by the EBRD and follows the successful completion of the Kova\u010dica windfarm earlier this month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 14.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">The \u20ac300 million project was developed with financial support provided by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 20.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; background: white;\">International Finance Corporation<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"> (IFC). The EBRD arranged a \u20ac107.7 million syndicated loan, of which \u20ac55 million was syndicated to Erste Bank, the Green for Growth Fund, UniCredit and Banca Intesa under <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ebrd.com\/work-with-us\/loan-syndications.html\"><span style=\"color: #0079c1; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">an A\/B loan structure<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 14.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">In parallel, the World Bank\u2019s IFC provided \u20ac107.7 million, partially through its Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program and partially through syndicated B loans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 14.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">\u010cibuk 1 was developed by Vetroelektrane Balkana, a Serbian company wholly-owned by Tesla Wind, a joint venture between\u00a0<a style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\" href=\"https:\/\/masdar.ae\/\"><span style=\"color: #0079c1; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">Masdar<\/span><\/a>, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, the Taaleri SolarWind I fund (managed by Finnish renewable energy infrastructure fund manager and developer\u00a0<a style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.taalerienergia.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0079c1; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">Taaleri Energia<\/span><\/a>) and the German development finance institution\u00a0<a style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.deginvest.de\/International-financing\/DEG\/\"><span style=\"color: #0079c1; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">DEG \u2013 Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 14.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">The inauguration of the \u20ac300 million project was attended by Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Anti\u0107, Serbia\u2019s Minister of Mining and Energy, Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Serbia, and Khaled Al Qubaisi, CEO of Aerospace, Renewables &amp; ICT for Mubadala.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 14.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">Zsuzsanna Hargitai, EBRD Regional Director, Western Balkans, said: \u201cInvestment in renewable energy is at the core of our energy strategy and we are very pleased to see Serbia making such good progress in renewables and to have been able to support these efforts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 14.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">Mohamed Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company and one of the world\u2019s leading renewable energy companies, said: \u201cIn collaboration with the government of Serbia, our fellow shareholders in Tesla Wind, the lenders, contractors and our many other partners, Masdar is proud to successfully deliver the largest utility-scale commercial wind project in the Western Balkans. \u010cibuk 1 is not only a bold statement as to Serbia\u2019s long-term renewable energy ambitions and its commitment to modernize its power sector, but also an investment in Serbia\u2019s energy security. Together, we have delivered a truly outstanding project, a marvel of engineering that has created jobs and delivered lasting improvements in infrastructure.
