{"id":41280,"date":"2019-08-20T20:55:12","date_gmt":"2019-08-20T18:55:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/?p=41280"},"modified":"2019-08-20T20:55:12","modified_gmt":"2019-08-20T18:55:12","slug":"pfizer-offers-20-health-grants-to-low-middle-income-countries-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/pfizer-offers-20-health-grants-to-low-middle-income-countries-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Pfizer offers 20 health grants to low, middle income countries this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">The Pfizer Foundation will extend 20health grants to low and middle income countries to help non-governmental organizations (NGOs), non-profits and social enterprises address critical health challenges related to infectious diseases, including the increasing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), in some of the world\u2019s most vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">Recipients of the one-year Global Health Innovation Grants (GHIG) include partners in 12 low- and middle-income countries that will each receive $100,000, for a total investment this year of $2 million by The Pfizer Foundation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">The Pfizer Foundation\u2019s flagship GHIG program is managed in partnership with Innovations in Healthcare (IiH), a nonprofit organization hosted by Duke University. The GHIG program combines grant investments with technical support to help accelerate global health innovations by giving partners the autonomy to navigate the unique and fluid challenges they face in their local \u2013 and often last mile \u2013 communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">Launched in 2016, the GHIG program has had incredible impact to date; 370,000 new patients have received care, 160,000 have been reached with screening and education, and 2,000 health workers have been trained. With the inclusion of this cohort of grants, total funding to date by the GHIG program totals $7.5 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">The 20 organizations included in this year\u2019s cohort of grants each take a community-tailored approach to finding and scaling sustainable solutions to overcome infectious diseases.
