<\/p>\nCoca-Cola Egypt has finalized upgrading 67 villages in Egypt under a 100-village development project launched in 2011 in line with an all-out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.<\/p>\n
In statements to CSR Egypt, Coca-Cola Egypt Director General Ahmed Radi said the project included extending water to poor villages, renovating schools and medical units, securing medical equipment and promoting small-sized enterprises, especially those owned by women.<\/p>\n
He said the company will put final touches of developing the 100 villages in 2020.<\/p>\n
Under the company’s CSR strategy, the company invests in sustainable projects which are meant to positively affect people’s livelihood, he said, citing its projects with the Egyptian government, several United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n
The American Chamber of Commerce has noted that Coca-Cola worked on developing 40 villages and extending water to 56,000 persons within the framework of the international “Replenish” initiative.<\/p>\n
The company has also manged to empower about 25,000 women economically within the framework of its international program “5by20” which offers a chance for women to attend training sessions to hone their skills in the fields of trade and financial services, according to the American chamber. The company also overhauled 46 schools and 32 medical centers.<\/p>\n
Coca-Cola campaigns have always underlined the importance of social development and helping others.<\/p>\n
Coca-Coal has also launched a campaign to activate domestic tourism in Egypt through replacing the company’s logo with images of the most beautiful cities in Egypt.<\/p>\n
Coca-Cola – which joined the Egyptian market in 1942 – has eight factories in Egypt, securing about 100,000 jobs.<\/p>\n
