{"id":122901,"date":"2026-11-01T22:12:56","date_gmt":"2026-11-01T20:12:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/?p=122901"},"modified":"2026-11-01T22:12:56","modified_gmt":"2026-11-01T20:12:56","slug":"goeic-lab-upgrades-to-meet-global-standards-boost-exports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/goeic-lab-upgrades-to-meet-global-standards-boost-exports\/","title":{"rendered":"GOEIC: Lab upgrades to meet global standards, boost exports"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) Essam El-Naggar said the organization is upgrading its laboratories and expanding testing services to help Egyptian exporters meet international standards, reduce compliance costs and improve their access to foreign markets.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/1755609068891468\">El-Naggar<\/a> made the remarks during the session \u201cFrom Disclosure to New Markets: How Can ESG and Sustainability Become a Competitive Advantage for Export?\u201d at Egypt Sustainable Business Week 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He outlined GOEIC\u2019s efforts to strengthen inspection and testing services and help local companies address increasingly demanding <a href=\"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/egyptair-ground-services-strengthens-environmental-standards-with-iso-14001\/\">environmental<\/a> and technical requirements in global markets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expanding local testing capabilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOEIC began upgrading its laboratories in 2018 to help exporters meet international standards and conduct required tests locally, avoiding the cost of sending products abroad for testing, El-Naggar said.<\/p>\n<p>Its services now cover multiple industries, including biodegradability testing, hazardous substances testing for engineering products, and energy efficiency, safety and performance tests for electrical appliances.<\/p>\n<p>El-Naggar stressed that gaps in local testing capabilities can force companies to seek services abroad at additional cost. GOEIC is therefore expanding its laboratories to ensure exporters can access the full range of required tests in Egypt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supporting access to global markets:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOEIC\u2019s testing services cover a broad range of industries, including electronics, engineering, ready-made garments, food, chemicals, fertilizers and paper.<\/p>\n<p>These services help Egyptian products meet the requirements of target markets, strengthening their competitiveness and export prospects, El-Naggar said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparing exporters for carbon requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Addressing environmental requirements and changes in international trade, El-Naggar said GOEIC has begun coordinating with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) under a cooperation protocol to help Egyptian companies prepare for the European Union\u2019s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation aims to support companies in meeting the mechanism\u2019s requirements, particularly those related to measuring carbon emissions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) Essam El-Naggar said the organization is upgrading its laboratories and expanding testing services to help Egyptian exporters meet international standards, reduce compliance costs and improve their access to foreign markets.
