JPMorganChase has pledged approximately $3.5 million to organizations across Greater Boston to expand access to jobs, support small businesses<\/a> and improve residents\u2019 financial stability.<\/div>\n

The funding builds on more than $25 million provided to Boston-area nonprofits over the past five years and forms part of the bank\u2019s broader efforts to expand economic opportunity across the US.<\/p>\n

JPMorganChase is also expanding its Boston operations, with plans to add hundreds of jobs in the coming years as it occupies more than eight floors at South Station Tower. An independent study found the firm contributes more than $1.4 billion annually to the local economy and supports an additional 1,000 jobs across various industries.<\/p>\n

Expanding career pathways:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The funding will support workforce training, internships and job placement programs, particularly in life sciences and technology.<\/p>\n

The Boston Private Industry Council will expand its paid Tech Apprentice program, adding 75 students and training in coding, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and cloud computing. Year Up will expand its Life Sciences Career Alliance with MassBio, aiming to help more than 500 young adults access entry-level, living-wage jobs.<\/p>\n

Just a Start will provide tuition-free biotechnology and IT training, while EdVestors will expand career pathways linking Boston Public Schools with local colleges and workforce organizations. Bioversity will support its free biotechnology training program, which aims to place 60 adults from low-income and underrepresented households in entry-level life sciences jobs annually.<\/p>\n

Backing small businesses:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under its American Dream Initiative<\/a>, JPMorganChase plans to expand its local business banking team by nearly 50% over the next five years, offering entrepreneurs lending solutions and business resources.<\/p>\n

The bank also aims to graduate more than 750 additional Greater Boston business owners from its Coaching for Impact program over the next five years. The program provides free consulting, executive coaching and tailored business education. More than 15,000 entrepreneurs nationwide have graduated since its launch, including over 425 in Greater Boston.<\/p>\n

Additional grants will support organizations helping businesses secure contracts, access capital and plan ownership transitions, including through employee ownership. Beneficiaries include the Cooperative Development Institute, the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations, the Center for Women & Enterprise and The Builder Coalition.<\/p>\n

The funding builds on $1.3 million announced in 2025, which has helped more than 500 local small businesses access counseling, capital-readiness training and financing support.<\/p>\n

Improving financial health:<\/strong><\/p>\n

JPMorganChase will support initiatives expanding access to safe banking services and helping residents build financial stability.<\/p>\n

MassINC will examine barriers to economic mobility, including housing, childcare, education and healthcare costs. The Partnership for Financial Equity will support the launch of the Massachusetts Bank On Coalition to expand access to safe banking products, while the Midas Collaborative will help small nonprofits establish matched-savings programs through a three-year pilot.<\/p>\n

The bank will also continue offering Chase Money Skills workshops through local workforce programs and community organizations.<\/p>\n

Expanding Boston presence:<\/strong><\/p>\n

JPMorganChase has operated in Greater Boston for more than five decades. It currently employs more than 2,200 people across its corporate offices and more than 85 branches in the region, serving 1.2 million consumers and over 71,000 small businesses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
