Bank of America is pledging $250,000 to the American Red Cross<\/a> to support families, businesses and communities affected by devastating wildfires across the Pacific Northwest and neighboring mountain states.<\/p>\n

The funding will help provide emergency shelter, meals, supplies and other critical assistance to people impacted by fires<\/a> across Washington, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Utah, including communities in and around Spokane, Washington.<\/p>\n

Backing communities through recovery:<\/h3>\n
\n

“The loss and destruction caused by these wildfires is heartbreaking,”<\/em> said Lauren Murray, Spokane and Boise market president at Bank of America. “Recovery will take time, and the impacts of these fires will be felt long after the flames are extinguished. Our thoughts are with the brave first responders and everyone affected as communities begin the process of rebuilding and healing.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The contribution will enable the Red Cross to respond quickly to immediate needs while supporting communities as they begin the longer recovery process.<\/p>\n

“Bank of America’s generosity helps Red Cross act quickly to support families impacted by disasters at a moment’s notice,”<\/em> said Anne McKeough, chief development officer at the American Red Cross. “As disasters like these wildfires become more frequent and intense, the Red Cross continues to count on extraordinary donors like Bank of America to help deliver hope and comfort to people and communities in times of great need.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Employees join relief effort:<\/h3>\n

Bank of America is also matching employee donations dollar for dollar to nonprofits providing disaster relief.<\/p>\n

The bank has more than 2,000 employees across Washington state, including 330 in the greater Spokane region. It is also providing assistance to employees affected by the fires through its Employee Assistance Program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keeping banking services available:<\/h3>\n

Bank of America continues to operate its financial centers in the Spokane market during the wildfires, helping clients access essential banking services throughout the response and recovery period.<\/p>\n
