PepsiCo<\/a> reported a 24% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 6% cut in virgin plastic use as part of its latest progress toward its 2030 pep+ goals, highlighting advances in climate action, circular packaging, agriculture, water stewardship, and nutrition.<\/p>\n

24% emissions cut:<\/h3>\n

PepsiCo said its 2025 performance showed a 24% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions against its 2022 baseline, including system contributions. Scope 3 Energy and Industry emissions fell 12%, while Scope 3 Forest, Land and Agriculture emissions declined 18%.<\/p>\n

The company also sourced 96% of the electricity used by its company-owned operations globally from renewable sources, equivalent to approximately 4,300 GWh.<\/p>\n

In Mexico, PepsiCo added 1,070 Ford E-Transit electric vans to its delivery fleet, while its partnership with Yara International helped around 1,000 farms across the EU and UK adopt low-carbon fertilizers and precision farming technologies.<\/p>\n

2 mln tons of plastic, 6% less virgin material:<\/h3>\n

PepsiCo used 2 million metric tons of plastic in key packaging markets in 2025, while cutting the absolute tonnage of virgin plastic used in primary packaging by 6% year on year.<\/p>\n

Recycled plastic accounted for 18% of primary plastic packaging in key markets, as the company works toward its broader packaging ambitions.<\/p>\n

4.7 mln acres under regenerative agriculture:<\/h3>\n

PepsiCo expanded regenerative, restorative, and protective agricultural practices to 4.7 million acres, while supporting around 224,000 people across its agricultural supply chains and communities since 2021.<\/p>\n

The company said reporting on its deforestation- and conversion-free sourcing goals will be released later as methodologies and data are finalized.<\/p>\n

35 bln liters of water replenished:<\/h3>\n

PepsiCo said it achieved 100% water replenishment at company-owned facilities in high water-risk watersheds and adopted the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard across all company-owned manufacturing sites in those areas.<\/p>\n

More than 60 active replenishment projects helped return approximately 35 billion liters of water to local watersheds in 2025.<\/p>\n

79% of foods meet sodium, fat targets:<\/h3>\n

PepsiCo also reported progress in reshaping its food and beverage portfolio.<\/p>\n

Some 68% of its beverage portfolio volume met its 2025 target for beverages containing no more than 100 calories from added sugars per 12-ounce serving, surpassing its 67% goal.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, 79% of convenient foods volume met its sodium target, exceeding the company’s 75% 2025 goal. The same share met its saturated-fat target.<\/p>\n

PepsiCo also delivered 79 billion portions of diverse ingredients, including whole grains, plant-based proteins, fruits and vegetables, toward its goal of 145 billion portions annually by 2030.<\/p>\n

PepsiCo pushes pep+ transformation:<\/h3>\n

The company said the latest results reflect its broader effort to embed pep+ across operations, agriculture, innovation and portfolio transformation as it works toward its 2030 ambitions.<\/p>\n
