PepsiCo restored nearly 29 billion liters of water to local watersheds while supporting almost 440,400 jobs across the United States, highlighting the company’s strategy of pairing environmental stewardship with economic growth.<\/p>\n

According to an Oxford Economics analysis, PepsiCo’s network contributed nearly $64.88 billion to US GDP in 2024, while the company continued to expand regenerative agriculture, water security and community investment through its PepsiCo Positive (pep+)<\/a> sustainability strategy.<\/p>\n

Protecting water resources:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Water stewardship remains one of PepsiCo’s flagship sustainability<\/a> priorities.<\/p>\n

The company achieved 100% water replenishment at company-owned facilities in high water-risk areas globally as of 2025, restoring nearly 29 billion liters of water to local watersheds in the United States and around the world.<\/p>\n

Including both company-owned and franchise-owned facilities in high water-risk areas, PepsiCo has reached 58% of its 2030 goal to replenish 100% of the water it consumes.<\/p>\n

Building resilient food systems:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alongside its water initiatives, PepsiCo continues to strengthen agricultural resilience by expanding regenerative, restorative and protective farming practices.<\/p>\n

As of 2025, the company has applied these practices across 4.7 million acres globally, working with farmers to improve soil health, strengthen livelihoods and build more resilient supply chains.<\/p>\n

Driving economic impact:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Oxford Economics found that PepsiCo’s network supported nearly 440,400 jobs across all 50 states in 2024.<\/p>\n

The company directly employed approximately 144,500 people in the US, with every PepsiCo job supporting roughly two additional jobs across the wider economy.<\/p>\n

Its operations contributed approximately $64.88 billion to US GDP, equivalent to around 0.22% of total US economic output, while generating more than $35.7 billion in income for workers.<\/p>\n

PepsiCo’s economic footprint also supported:<\/p>\n

  • 176,000 manufacturing jobs<\/li>\n
  • 14,500 agricultural jobs<\/li>\n
  • 61,800 trade and transportation jobs, including trucking and logistics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Expanding positive choices:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    PepsiCo said it continues to reshape its portfolio by expanding foods and beverages with functional ingredients such as protein, fiber and electrolytes, while increasing options with less sugar and no artificial colors or flavors.<\/p>\n

    Among the products highlighted were Lay’s and Tostitos, which are made without artificial colors or flavors, along with newer offerings including Gatorade Lower Sugar, SunChips Fiber and Quaker Protein Rice Crisps.<\/p>\n

    Investing in communities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Through the PepsiCo Foundation, the company is investing in education, workforce development and community resilience across the United States.<\/p>\n

    To mark America’s 250th anniversary, the foundation is supporting 250 nonprofit organizations this year through grants aimed at expanding economic opportunity and strengthening local communities.<\/p>\n

    Programs such as the PepsiCo Foundation Scholars Program and Field to Future with Farm Foundation are also helping create pathways to education, workforce development and long-term economic mobility.<\/p>\n

    Through pep+, PepsiCo is positioning sustainability as a driver of long-term business resilience by investing in water stewardship, regenerative agriculture, healthier product choices and stronger communities.<\/p>\n

    The Oxford Economics report suggests those efforts are delivering environmental and social benefits alongside a broader economic impact, reinforcing PepsiCo’s role in building more resilient food systems and local economies.<\/p>\n
