GRI Sector Standards for Financial Services will provide a structured roadmap to identify, manage and communicate the sector\u2019s most significant impacts on people and planet.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Under the project, three new draft Standards \u2013 for banking, insurance and capital markets \u2013 are currently open for public comment. All stakeholders in the sector are encouraged to\u00a0<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/GRI_FinancialServices\"><span data-ccp-charstyle=\"Hyperlink\">submit feedback on the exposure drafts<\/span><\/a><\/u>\u00a0until 31 May, to help shape the development of these new Standards.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">As key enablers of\u00a0economic activities across all sectors, financial institutions are\u00a0uniquely positioned to influence how the impacts of organizations unfold and play a key role in addressing risks.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In this Medium article, Natalia Abril Bonilla and Lisa van den Hoven highlight how the financial sector can use its leverage to address global challenges and promote positive change: \u201c<u><a href=\"https:\/\/globalreportinginitiative.medium.com\/d106e9f9129c\">Tackling global risks: how the financial sector can lead with impact<\/a><\/u>\u00a0\u201c<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cBy incorporating impact and embedding due diligence into decision-making, and influencing institutional customers and investees to adopt more responsible business practices, financial institutions can mitigate significant negative impacts.
