This initiative involved a series of local events, training workshops and the development of ESG reporting guidelines.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Africa\u2019s stock exchanges serve as gateways for investment and financial stability. Integrating ESG principles, aligned with the GRI Standards, enhances their ability to attract sustainable investments, build resilience and address regional sustainability challenges.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Working closely with exchange leadership, listed companies and market stakeholders, GRI Africa has guided stock exchanges in setting disclosure requirements for their listing frameworks. This involved to balance international frameworks with local contexts.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The most recent engagements with stock exchanges included Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) which hosted a two-day sustainability and ESG stakeholder engagement event, where GRI Africa presented the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biofin.org\/sites\/default\/files\/content\/publications\/BSE%20Sustainability%20Disclosure%20Guidance.pdf\">BSE Sustainability Disclosure Guidance<\/a>\u00a0and provided training on ESG data integration.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) also partnered with GRI Africa to launch its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rse.rw\/IMG\/pdf\/rse_esg_reporting_guidelines-2.pdf\">ESG Reporting Guidelines<\/a>\u00a0in December 2024, emphasizing the role of transparency in attracting sustainable investments.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Casablanca Stock Exchange (CSE) also contributed to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aseaconference2024.co.bw\/\">ASEA Conference<\/a>\u00a0panels moderated by GRI Africa, which explored ESG trends and strategies.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cStock exchanges are at the heart of driving sustainable investment in Africa.
