It follows a 1 billion Australian dollar denominated social bond issued by the corporation last week.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Announced on Monday, the order book grew steadily during the marketing process and continued to do so throughout the bookbuild.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cIn an era marked by rising inequality and poverty, social bonds have emerged as a crucial tool for directing investments to essential projects in emerging markets,\u201d said John Gandolfo, IFC Vice President and Treasurer, Treasury &amp; Mobilization. \u201cThis bond will unlock additional funding for vulnerable communities and underserved groups in emerging markets in areas such as health, education, and food security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The social bond is issued under an updated\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifc.org\/content\/dam\/ifc\/doc\/2025\/IFC-Social-Bond-Framework-Jan-2025.pdf\">social bond framework<\/a>, which IFC published last week. The social bond framework received\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainablefitch.com\/sovereigns\/international-finance-corporation-second-party-opinion-10-01-2025\">a rating of \u201cexcellent<\/a>\u201d from second opinion provider Sustainable Fitch, who confirmed the framework\u2019s full alignment with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icmagroup.org\/sustainable-finance\/the-principles-guidelines-and-handbooks\/social-bond-principles-sbp\/\">International Capital Market\u2019s Social Bond Principles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">IFC is one of the largest global issuers of social bonds and the only World Bank Group entity that issues social bonds.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Nomura, and SEB acted as joint lead managers for the transaction.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;With this new $2 billion three-year social bond transaction (the first under the new framework), the International Finance Corporation has once again demonstrated its commitment to the US dollar market and its loyal investor base. Despite very congested markets IFC was rewarded with its largest orderbook ever and over five times covered for the deal. The sheer volume and quality of the orderbook underscores IFC\u2019s position as a US dollar market favorite and has enabled IFC to achieve the largest spread tightening seen in the market this year!
