{"id":100223,"date":"2024-08-19T23:24:04","date_gmt":"2024-08-19T20:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/?p=100223"},"modified":"2024-08-19T23:24:06","modified_gmt":"2024-08-19T20:24:06","slug":"survey-40-of-us-companies-allocate-specific-budget-for-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csregypt.com\/en\/survey-40-of-us-companies-allocate-specific-budget-for-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"Survey: 40% of US companies allocate specific budget for sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csregypt.com\/en\/survey-92-of-firms-expect-climate-change-to-affect-their-business-by-2050-23-already-impacted\/\">A survey<\/a> \u2013 conducted by EcoOnline, a leading SaaS technology company for chemical safety, EHS and ESG \u2013 said 40% of US companies have a specific budget dedicated to sustainability, while 25% of companies are working within their current budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The survey aimed to assess the awareness and preparation around climate legislation in California among U.S. companies with revenues exceeding $500 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecoonline.com\/2024-sustainability-readiness-report\">EcoOnline\u2019s recent survey<\/a>, conducted through Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI), provides an in-depth look at corporate America&#8217;s readiness for these laws and the steps they are taking to comply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The survey showed that over 80% of companies are proactively building net-zero programs, with none waiting for legislation to be enacted before building a sustainability program or team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">About 73% of respondents view sustainability as a way to drive revenue growth, with 94% seeing it as a means to increase brand value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For 40% of respondents, the CEO or board is leading sustainability efforts or being held accountable for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Nearly 85% of respondents plan to increase their sustainability budgets within the next three years. However, only 25% of companies have specific budgets fully funded and prioritized by the C-Suite and board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">About 84% of respondents plan to deploy dedicated or purpose-built sustainability software\u00a0to comply with legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Our survey highlights a critical tipping point where U.S. companies are boldly moving beyond reactive compliance and penalty avoidance, embracing sustainability as a powerful engine for growth,\u201d said Tom Goodmanson, CEO of EcoOnline. \u201cWhile they are committed to these initiatives, the specifics of how they will achieve their goals remain uncertain.
