Nestle Egypt launched “Choose Wellness ..Choose Nestle” initiative in Egypt for the third straight year to encourage people to adopt healthier life styles and practice more physical exercises.
The initiative declared January 2020 “the month of health” with an aim to reach the largest number of people through organizing several activities in hypermarkets during the whole month.
Under the initiative, nutrition experts were present during the whole month at two main hypermarkets; Hyper One and Carrefour – branch of Cairo suburb of Maadi – which enjoy highest number of shoppers, to encourage shoppers buy healthy food to adopt healthy lifestyles and healthy eating habits.
The experts were keen to offer advice to shoppers on healthy food and how this can affect their health and their whole life.
Moreover, Nestle nutritionists were also present in more than 17 supermarkets nationwide during January to post shoppers on the importance of leading healthier lives in addition to providing them with tips on how to adopt a healthy balanced nutrition system.
Sarah Kanaan, the Nestlé Head of Nutrition, Health and Wellness in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), said “the initiative focuses this year on getting customers to read the nutritional compass to be able to choose more healthy products,” noting that most people are still unable to explain nutritional data on packages of food products.
“Seeking to attain this goal, Nestle was keen to get nutritionists to be present at several supermarkets to help people be aware about food calories and other important nutritional data in addition to helping them to know how to prepare healthy grocery lists in order to adopt healthier lifestyles,” she added.
She said the initiative was meant to promote Nestle’s vision on improving quality of life through shaping a better and healthier world, adding that the company seeks to cater for one of its commitments towards the society which is sensitizing customers to all needed nutritional data and tips on food portions and calories.
