Three companies donated a total of EGP 59 million to support the Egyptian government in its fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Al Mansour Automotive donated EGP 50 million to the Egyptian government to secure needed medical supplies and ventilators.
Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli received a letter from Al Mansour Autmotive CEO Mohamed Lotfi Mansour that the action stems from the company’s commitment to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support the nation.
Mansour noted that the company contacted Health Minister Hala Zayed to review means of buttressing the health sector under the COVID-19 crisis.
Mansour commended the painstaking efforts being exerted by the government to contain the virus, stressing the company’s full support for the political leadership and the government in such critical stage.
Mansour said confronting this pandemic requires joining hands with the government.
For his part, the premier hailed the company’s positive CSR gesture in such extraordinary conditions.
Madbouli said the initiatives launched by businessmen and the private sector to reinforce the government’s efforts in the face of the COVID-19 underlines that “we are partners in building this nation, facing challenges and attaining the aspirations of our people.”
Meanwhile, Tatweer Misr also donated EGP 5 million through engaging in initiatives and coalitions with the public sector and the civil society to prop up the state efforts.
Tatweer Misr CEO Ahmed Shalabi said the company launched “We are building life together” initiative.
Under the initiative, the company collaborated with many charity associations. Tatweer Misr joined hands with Orman Charity Association to support Kafr Abdel Khaleq village in the Upper Egypt governorate of Menya and worked on rebuilding houses damaged in the recent wave of torrential rains. In addition, food supplies and financial assistance were extended to the villagers who suffered hard conditions over the coronavirus crisis.
The company has also joined forces with Ahl Masr Foundation for Development and other organizations to fit out isolation hospitals with medical equipment.
The company also cooperated with the American Chamber of Commerce and UNICEF to provide ventilators for isolation hospitals.
Tatweer Masr also extended food supplies to Natroun Village people in addition to financial aid to Matrouh people.
Meanwhile, Ibnsina Pharma donated EGP 4 million to the Egyptian government to secure medical supplies for isolation hospitals.
Ibnsina Pharma Managing Director Omar Abdel Gawwad said the company also collaborated with the cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center within the framework of fighting the coronavirus nationwide. The company sent about 500,000 awareness messages among pharmacists.
The prime minister thanked Ibnsina Pharma company for its philanthropic gesture and hailed it for maintaining all its employees and paying their salaries in full.
The three companies have represented an example for commitment to CSR and support for the state, especially in the crises.
