Three Egyptian startups specialized in smart cities domain have won the Innovation Arena Awards on the fringe of the Cairo ICT 2023.
In collaboration with Cairo-ICT Master Sponsor MIDAR, each of the winning companies; namely Hoopoe, Atmos Tech, IMC, will be awarded an EGP 50,000 financial incentive, Innovators Support Fund (ISF) CEO Diaa Khalil said.
Khalil highlighted that the three companies represent an example of innovation and creativity of Egyptian youths who contribute to pushing forward the wheel of development.
MIDAR – one of Egypt’s largest and leading master developers specialized in introducing world-class urban concepts that put innovation at their heart – asserted that company’s keenness in supporting innovation in Egypt and offering financial and technical support for emerging companies in the field of smart cities.
Cairo ICT 2023 – under the theme of Shaping the Future – attracted an impressive number of attendees, with a total of 114,640 trade visitors over the course of the four-day event.
Cairo ICT 2023 concluded on November 22nd, marking a resounding success for the event. The inauguration ceremony, led by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly on behalf of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, was attended by several esteemed ministers, including the Ministries of Higher Education, Education, Health, Justice, and Communications and Information Technology.
The event also received vital support and participation from the Central Bank of Egypt in the 10th round of the PAFIX Exhibition and Conference, further contributing to its triumph.
One notable aspect of CairoICT was the signing of 43 cooperation and partnership agreements among participating companies, demonstrating the potential for collaboration and growth within the industry.
The exhibition hosted a diverse range of sessions and workshops, featuring 289 speakers across conferences such as CairoICT, PAFIX, Innovation Arena, cybersecurity conferences, specialized conferences for the Ministry of Higher Education, and conferences on primary education. This comprehensive program ensured that attendees had access to valuable insights and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
