President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives to enhance the Tahya Misr Fund programs which enhance development in various sectors as well as social protection as the fund has contributed EGP 1.3 billion for social initiatives since its establishment.
The president gave directives for the Fund to continue its contributions and to enhance its programs, within the framework of the fruitful partnership with government agencies, civil society organizations and the private sector, in order to mobilize the state’s own capabilities as one of the tools for development and to face societal challenges, also within the framework of the state’s strategy to support and meet the needs of the most vulnerable families and improve services provided to them.
The Fund’s contributions to various sectors across the nation, since its establishment to date, have exceeded EGP 22 billion. This includes contributions to the field of urban development and alternative housing by about EGP 7 billion, and healthcare by about EGP 11.5 billion, such as medical procedures associated with the Coronavirus pandemic and various health initiatives and medical devices in hospitals.
Contributions also included other fields such as social protection initiatives by about EGP 1.3 billion, economic empowerment and job creation by about EGP 400 million, education by about EGP 531 million, programs to support the talented by about EGP 200 million, and the investment sector by about EGP 400 million, in addition to the Fund’s contributions in the case of emergencies and natural disasters by EGP one billion.
This came during the president’s meeting with Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs, Major General Mohammed Amin.
The Spokesperson for the Presidency said the meeting reviewed the contribution of Tahya Misr Fund activities to supporting the process of development and social protection programs.
Major General Mohammed Amin gave an overview of the Fund’s activities and contributions, highlighting its growing vital role in assisting the state agencies to support social protection programs and development projects nationwide and its success in many sectors to improve services and citizen’s standard of living.
