Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, with its subsidiary EcoAct, has become Official Supporter in climate contribution projects for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games to make a concrete impact on the ambition to organize more responsible Games.
“The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games aim to reduce their climate impact by taking action on two fronts: reducing their emissions across all aspects of the event’s organization and supporting projects to capture or avoid carbon emissions in France and around the world. As a global leader in the carbon market with our subsidiary EcoAct, Schneider Electric is proud to be able to support Paris 2024 in the selection of climate contribution projects,” said Peter Herweck, CEO of Schneider Electric.
Climate contribution projects help combat climate change and generate environmental and social benefits. They provide an opportunity for a company, organization or region to complement its emissions reduction strategy by supporting projects that will avoid or capture greenhouse gas emissions and actively fight climate change.
To support Paris 2024, Schneider Electric drew on the internationally recognized expertise of its subsidiary EcoAct, an ICROA (International Carbon Reduction and Offset Accreditation) experienced partner, to select three projects meeting the requirements defined by Paris 2024.
Located in Vietnam, Rwanda and Senegal, these three projects, in addition to their climate contribution, bring co-benefits to biodiversity and local communities, and contribute to Sustainable Development Goals.
Each project has undergone a rigorous development and assessment process, meeting the highest certification standards and additional requirements set by Paris 2024. In addition, EcoAct experts, in conjunction with local partners, have carried out additional risk analyses of the projects to ensure their highest integrity, and carry out regular checks on them.
