The Saudi company Savola Foods participated in “Himaya” or “Protection” initiative as well as two other initiatives in Egypt aiming to support the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Saudi company decided to participate in the “Himaya” or “Protection” Initiative for supporting needy people and daily wage workers as well as hospitals in the face of the coronavirus (COVID-19) fallout.
The initiative was launched by Sona3 ElKheir Foundation – a charity foundation – and CSR Egypt under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.
Under the initiative, Savola Foods will extend 1000 boxes containing personal protective equipment, like masks, gloves and sanitizers, to be distributed among needy families as well as cleanliness workers and vendors.
These boxes will be distributed in the Upper Egypt governorates of Luxor, Aswan, Qena as well as Behira, Fayyoum, South Sinai, New Valley and Red Sea governorates.
This is meant to contribute to ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic.
The company was also keen to support Egypt’s Abbassia Fever Hospital – which plays a key role in offering all needed medical help for coronavirus cases.
Savola Foods commended the great efforts being exerted by the hospital’s team.
The Saudi company also contributed to “Charity Challenge” or El Kehir Challenge which was launched by Resala charity organizations to support poor people over the coronavirus economic consequences.
Under the challenge,, the company extended foodstuff bags to 4, 5000 poor families that lost their daily income in Beni Suef, Giza, Alexandria, Menya and Fayyoum.
Meanwhile, the company has also taken all needed health precautionary measures against the coronavirus, including sterilization of its buildings and factories and reducing the number of workers.
