Samsung Global Goals application helps raising funds to the United Nations Development Goals (UNDP) in addition to disseminating awareness the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
When a user engages with in-app advertising, it automatically donates to UNDP 100% of the revenue the advertising generates, at no cost to the user. And with a 1:1 match from Samsung, every dollar “earned” in advertising will raise two, to double the donation to help meet the Sustainable Development Goals.
The result is that users are incentivized to learn more about the Goals, because they see twice the impact when they do. The update also prompts new users to generate more ad earnings, even when their phone is charging, by opting in to the ‘Charge Screen ads’ feature.
For those who want to increase their impact even further, direct donations to UNDP can be made with just a few taps. By simply clicking and confirming, users can donate via Samsung Pay or Google Pay, a new feature now available on the app in 5 countries and coming soon in many more.
The app is available for download through the Galaxy Store and Google Play.
In 2019, the UNDP and Samsung Electronics announced a partnership to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals.
Today, through this partnership, millions are learning about the Global Goals where their attention is increasingly focused—on their mobile phones—and taking action on the issues that matter most to them.
The Global Goals app is one of the many unique ways that UNDP is reaching people where they spend their time, so that they can spend it for good.
The Samsung Global Goals app invites users of Android and Samsung Galaxy devices to get involved through an easy-to-use interface.
A richer mobile experience is now available to app users through an update released on January 29, 2020. With this update, lock screen wallpapers greet users with inspirational quotes and dynamic visuals in a range of graphic styles.
Clicking through the app, users learn more about the Goals, with key facts, context, examples and stories of how each Goal is relevant on a global and local scale.
