Deputy Board Chairman of
the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) Dalia El Baz said the bank is offering for the first time in the Egyptian banking sector a “Doorstep Banking” service for women, elderly people and disabled persons.
As the bank is deeply interested in facilitating measures, the bank launched this service under which a bank employee will go to the doorstep of the client to offer all needed help to activate the electronic service so that the client would not need to visit the bank’s branch.
The service falls within the framework of the bank’s belief in the importance of serving society and getting these social categories to be part of the bank’s mechanism as the NBE is the bank of Egyptians, she said.
The bank’s Board Chairman Hisham Okasha said the bank launched the new service out of its belief in the importance of offering the highest level of services to its clients and developing its services to cater for people’s needs.
He said the bank is keen on facilitating services while offering the highest levels of security, noting that this step falls within the framework of the bank’s digitization strategy.
This promotes the bank’s digital transformation strategy which was given the go-ahead with the inauguration of the first e-service branch in Egypt in 2019, he said, adding that the bank seeks enhancing financial inclusion which is one of the main objectives of the state and the Central Bank of Egypt.
Okasha said the bank’s team has conducted a thorough study about the market needs to achieve the highest standards of client satisfaction and promote digitization in various banking systems to cope with accelerating international developments.
He said the bank seeks to reach out the largest number of people in various governorates nationwide.
