The Nahdet Misr Publishing House won the Arab charity award “Kheir” of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility (ACSR) under the auspices of the Arab League.
The Arab charity award “Kheir” of the ACSR is meant to honor the best charitable works in the Arab world at individual or institutional levels.
A panel consisting of a large number of experts selects the winners – whether individuals or institutions – that played a pivotal role in charitable work in the Arab world.
The panel assessed about 150 institutions and individuals that were vying for the award.
The Nahdet Misr Publishing House copped the award for a project for ensuring quality education and qualifying hearing impaired children.
The project is implemented in tandem with Nida Society with aim to hone language and life skills of hearing impaired children and qualifying them to merge with their peers at schools.
Under the project, unified curricula were worked out by the Ministries of Social Solidarity and Education to serve this end.
Board Chairperson of the Nahdet Misr Publishing House Dalia Ibrahim expressed happiness for winning the award, stressing that Nahdet Misr is always keen to work on projects that would secure health and educational services for all, due to its belief on the importance of equality in building community and realizing sustainable development.
The awards were distributed on the fringe of the conference for charitable and voluntary work which was held at the Arab League HQ.
Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Haifa Abu-Ghazaleh attended the event alongside ACSR Secretary General Randa Rizk, ACSR Assistant Secretary General Mohamed Azzam and key figures working in charity and social domains in the Arab world.
It is worth mentioning that Nahdet Misr has several important contributions in the social development field through its participation in several educational and health projects.
