Juhayna company joined hands with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and El Nidaa Foundation under the “Kemama” or face mask campaign to produce face masks to support the Upper Egypt governorate of Qena in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
Under the campaign, the company announced that it will secure 20,000 face masks to buttress Qena hospital.
The campaign is meant to cater for the society’s needs of face masks at prices which are 80 percent down than those available in Qena market.
Passant Fouda, the head of Juhayna’s PR department, said “this was not the first campaign in which the company participates, but it is the most important one.”
The campaign falls at the heart of the company’s strategy which aims to empower women and realize a positive social impact, she said.
The company also seeks to play its role in the health domain through curbing the spread of the coronavirus in Qena.
She added that Juhayna is keen on offering all needed support for the state, especially in the times of crises.
It is also interested in securing personal protection equipment, especially for most needy people in Upper Egypt, she said, adding that this is pivotal for containing the spread of the coronavirus.
Juhayna has participated in several other initiatives to support the society since the commencement of the crisis, she said.
The company has backed about 6,000 families in a charity challenge which was meant to support daily-wage workers.
It also took part in a campaign which was implemented by the American Chamber of Commerce in tandem with the Health Ministry and UNICEF to support the medical mechanism in Egypt through securing needed medical equipment.
