Juhayna marked the Women’s Day in collaboration with the United Nations Women (UN Women) with the achievements realized by El Comanda program which aims to empower women economically.
Passant Fouad, External Communications Director of Juhayna, said the program aims to empower and support women and secure a permanent source of income for them through distributing the company’s products in Upper Egypt, especially in the Beni Suef governorate.
The program also organized training sessions for participating women to expound how to trade the products, the pricing process and capital management, she said, noting that the program realized great success as participating women managed to achieve 137 percent growth in their sales within eight months.
Fouad made the remarks during a seminar held with beneficiaries of the program on the Women’s Day.
Fouad said that Juhanya backs women within the framework of its keenness on launching social initiatives focusing on developing society and improving people’s living conditions.
The program was launched in 2020 to promote women empowerment and help women play an effective role in their families and the community as a whole.
Fouad said the company seeks to up the number of beneficiaries from the program and is planning to launch several stages of the program in the coming period so that the program would be a unique example of women empowerment programs.
Fouad said Juhayna plays a pivotal role in supporting women and bolstering their contribution to the community’s development.
She noted that the company is also a key supporter and sponsor of the Baheya Foundation For Early Detection and Treatment Of Breast Cancer and contributed to receiving 162,000 cases within six years.
The company is also contributing to the establishment of the Baheya hospital in Sheikh Zayed.
Juhayna also contributed to raising awareness on means of combating violence against women.
